Hey, Lambs! Thanks for taking a look at my Mariah Carey fan site, ButterflYutopia79. My name is Lucy and I'm from New York. I have devoted this site to my most favorite artist of all time, Mariah Carey. Mariah is truly an inspirational artist. By encompassing the extraordinary record of selling 15 #1 singles, she is the best-selling female artist of all time. On this site, I'll include everything I know about Mariah, including her biography, a recordings list, news, photos, show/concert reviews, and much more.
I originally became a huge Mariah Carey fanatic when I was 10 years old. At that time, I didn't have enough money to buy any of her albums. So I would always sit by the radio, make song requests and wait for them to be played. It took a while at times to get through, but it was worth it. At that time, I remember seeing a television interview, which included Mariah and her mother, which became the start of a fabulous career for her. Now, 12 years later, I am still and will always be, a big fan of Mariah Carey. I possess each and everyone of her albums and many singles. I love listening to them because of her beautiful, uplifting voice and the messages of hope and joy that she brings forth through them. Listening to her has become a healthy ritual for me. After watching her grow through the years professionally and personally, she definitely has proven that she is a true talent and will always be #1.
What I love best about Mariah is that she is sweet, down-to-earth and is able to relate to her listeners of different age groups, races, etc. through the versatility that she enraptures in her music. Her lyrics are straight to the point and contains feelings, experiences and issues, which people experience everyday. I feel she is able to
connect personally with me through her music. I have learned so much about life through her music. I'll be eternally grateful and will always hold her close to my heart. Even though she doesn't know me, I consider her my friend through her music because it comforts me, brings me hope and makes me feel better. She truly is a beautiful butterfly who reaches out to touch the hearts of many. Also, I commend her project, Camp Mariah, which provides inner-city children with a gratifying experience of the outdoors. This clearly is an example of her givingness to others, other than through her inspirational music.
